Detroit Business Leaders to Brief Senior Administration Official on Innovation and Patent Reform

DETROIT - Local business leaders will discuss the innovation economy and patent reform at a roundtable briefing Friday at TechTown Detroit. Michelle Lee, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the first woman to head the U.S. patent system, will discuss several key initiatives of the USPTO. 


As a principal advisor to President Obama on intellectual property matters, she will also discuss current proposals for patent reform legislation in Congress, goals for protecting intellectual property in upcoming international trade agreements, and more generally, the role of intellectual property in driving innovation.

The meeting, hosted by Business Forward and TechTown Detroit, is open to press.
