The Front Door for Business Engagement at Wayne State University is offering matching funds to small businesses in southeast Michigan to support student interns in the STEM fields. The Small Company Internship Award (SCIA) program provides up to $3,500 to hire a talented Wayne State University student for summer 2015.
"At Wayne State we realize the role that industry and university partnerships play in advancing economic development in the region," says Dennis Atkinson, director of the Front Door for Business Engagement. "Connecting local businesses to our student talent is one of many ways our office works to support growth."
Administered by the Michigan Corporate Relations Network, the SCIA program is open to businesses with fewer than 500 employees offering internships in science, technology, engineering and math.
