As 2014 winds down, many people will begin to set goals for the new year. If one of those goals is to be healthier, then Wayne State’s Wellness Warriors Program may be an option to help get you there.

“From nutrition counseling and fitness assessments to screenings and smoking cessation, the program has something for everyone looking to improve their health,” says Lea Madjoff, wellness coordinator. “You can even earn monetary incentives just for joining.”

Enrollment for the 2015 program continues through Dec.12.

The Wellness Warriors Program is free for subsidized, benefit-eligible WSU employees and is designed to offer each participant tools and resources to create a personalized wellness plan. All personal health information is confidential and will never get back to human resources, your insurance provider or your supervisor, Madjoff says.

For 2015, the Wellness Warriors Program will offer:

  • An  extra $75 in your paycheck for joining (paid when program starts, early 2015)
  • Up to an additional $175 in incentives throughout the year
  • Free telephone wellness coaching with Ulliance Wellness Coaches
  • Free fitness services at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center
  • Free health services at University Pharmacy
  • Free nutritional consultation with Wellness Warriors nutritionists
  • A full calendar of educational and fitness events to attend each month
  • Competitions, prizes and more
