Ribbon-cutting, 9/11 remembrance ceremonies to mark reopening of Wayne State's student veteran center, Sept. 11

Legendary American folk musician Sixto Rodriguez scheduled to attend

WHAT: 
A ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the re-opening of Wayne State University's newly expanded and renovated Student Veteran Resource Center.
Preceding the opening ceremony, a brief 9/11 remembrance ceremony will be held.

WHEN: 
Ribbon-cutting, 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 11
9/11 remembrance, 10:28 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 11

WHERE: 
Ribbon-cutting: Student Center Building, 5221 Gullen Mall, Student Veterans Resource Center, Suite 687, Detroit. 
9/11 remembrance ceremony: Held in front of the flags at Gullen Mall, southeast corner of Student Center Building. 

MORE INFO:
Legendary American Folk musician Sixto Rodriguez is scheduled to attend the events. Rodriguez, a 1981 Wayne State University graduate with a philosophy degree, and recipient of a Doctor of Humane Letters from WSU, was profiled in the Oscar-winning documentary "Searching for Sugarman."
