New Student Convocation and FestiFall to welcome more than 2,000 new Warriors and their families

Join Wayne State University President M. Roy Wilson, administrators, faculty and staff in welcoming students and their families to the university's 147th academic year during New Student Convocation and FestiFall at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26. 

Wilson, Dean of Students David Strauss and Eranda Nikolla, associate professor of chemical engineering and recent recipient of the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development Award, will address the crowd. More than 2,000 incoming students and family members are expected to attend.

FestiFall, a lively outdoor celebration where students can share a picnic lunch and mingle with deans and faculty members while learning about Wayne State's vibrant campus life, will be held immediately following Convocation.

Convocation will be held in the Max J. Pincus Court in front of the McGregor Memorial Conference Center. FestiFall will take place on Gullen Mall.
