Wayne State University experts available to comment on the Israel-Hamas truce and upcoming talks in Egypt

Israel has withdrawn its troops from Gaza marking the start of a 72-hour cease-fire now in effect by Israel and Hamas. The truce, assuming it holds, will be followed by indirect talks between Israel and Hamas in Cairo aimed at creating a deal that would prevent future conflict between the two sides.

The following Wayne State University faculty members are available to offer expert opinion, tips and analysis in relation to the crisis:

Fred Pearson is a professor of political science and director of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University. Pearson also directs the Detroit Council for World Affairs and is on the board of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. http://www.clas.wayne.edu/fredericpearson

Saeed A. Khan is a lecturer in the Departments of Near East & Asian Studies and History. He teaches Islamic and Middle East and History, Islamic Civilizations, and History of Islamic Political Thought. http://clasweb.clas.wayne.edu/citizenship/CenterResearchers
