The three prongs of the WSU Athletic Department include graduating student-athletes, giving back to the community, and competing for and winning championships. The Warrior student-athletes hit all three out of the park once again in 2013-14.

In the classroom, they had a strong winter 2014 semester. Sixteen student-athletes recorded a perfect 4.0 term GPA, with nearly 60 percent earning above a 3.0.

In the community, student-athletes donated a record 10,107 hours of community service, surpassing last year’s 9,766.

In competition, the Warriors set a school record by accumulating 524 points in the 2013-14 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Directors’ Cup, placing 14th out of 317 NCAA Division II institutions. Wayne State’s best finishes in the NACDA Directors’ Cup have all occurred in the last 13 years, and in 11 of the last 12 years, the Warriors have finished in the top 12 percent of all NCAA Division II schools.

For the first time in school history, all six spring sports teams competed in their respective NCAA championships.
