Registration is underway for classes in Wayne State’s new Advanced Technology Education Center, located on 12 Mile Road in Warren. On Aug. 27, students will begin working toward four-year degrees in several high-demand academic programs.
The majority of construction on the 40,000-square-foot facility has been completed, and work has begun furnishing it with equipment, fixtures and other amenities.
The building includes three computer labs, three instructional technology labs, four engineering labs, two seminar rooms and two general-purpose classrooms. Most rooms have multiple flat-screen televisions and all have raised floors that audio/visual and computer cables run under.
“The classrooms are really designed around students to provide the best learning experience that technology can offer,” said Jason Davis, project manager in Facilities Planning & Management.
