Media Advisory: Kevyn Orr to lecture at country's first college course on Detroit's historic comeback

What: Detroit Emergency Manager Kevyn Orr will guest-lecture at Wayne State University's newest urban studies and planning course, speaking about Detroit's historic comeback. The class -- the country's first university-level course to cover the city's restructuring effort in real time -- was designed to offer students a comprehensive examination of the key issues related to Detroit's transformation. Orr will serve as a guest lecturer for week eight of the class, which focuses on fiscal issues. Registered students will have an opportunity to ask Orr questions following his lecture.

Reporters covering the event are permitted to record the lecture, but are kindly asked to respect the classroom environment and hold any questions until the conclusion of class. Orr will be available immediately following the lecture for a 10-minute group media session. Students and the chair of the WSU urban studies and planning department, Robin Boyle, will also be available for comment following the conclusion of class.
