DETROIT - Wayne State University Law School's Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights will host an exhibition featuring posters from more than 20 historical and contemporary boycott movements.

Boycott! The Art of Economic Activism, which is free to the public, will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, through Friday, June 20, in Room 1244 of the Keith Center.

A free opening reception with refreshments is planned from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 16. Reservations are requested for the reception. To register, call (313) 577-3620 or email keithcenter@wayne.edu.

Parking is available for $6.50 (credit and debit cards only) in Structure One across West Palmer Street from the law school.

The exhibition of posters from the 1950s to the present includes such movements as the Montgomery Bus Boycott; United Farm Workers' grape and lettuce boycott; divestment from South Africa to protest Apartheid; boycotts of corporations using sweatshops; and Palestinian call for Boycott, Divest and Sanctions.

The traveling poster exhibition was created by the American Friends Service Committee and the Center for the Study of Political Graphics. This exhibition uses the posters to demonstrate the effectiveness of boycotts as a nonviolent tactic to end injustice and oppression.
