The Wayne State University Police Department has played an important role in transforming Midtown into one of Michigan's safest neighborhoods. On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Wayne State Insiders will get a firsthand look at how the department keeps the campus and community secure.
The event includes a tour of the WSU Police Headquarters, an overview of the successful CompStat crime prevention system, and a discussion between Police Chief Tony Holt and Center for Urban Studies Director Lyke Thompson about the collaborative efforts that have made Wayne State one of Michigan’s safest campuses.
Insiders will also view demonstrations and learn important strategies to keep them safe on and off campus. The event runs from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the WSU Police Headquarters, located at 6050 Cass Ave.
The Wayne State Insiders includes alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty and staff who serve as informal ambassadors for Wayne State and our Midtown community.
