A major overhaul is coming to Wayne State’s website, as the Web team prepares to unveil an entirely new online experience.
"We’ve reimagined wayne.edu entirely and streamlined it to fit the expectations of potential students,” says Director of Digital Communications Nick DeNardis. “We wanted to capture the feel of a campus visit and bring it to the Web.”
The project included the redesign of 43 websites and more than 2,500 pages. Four team members dedicated themselves to work on the project full time, isolated from the rest of the group to remain free from distraction.
Multimedia Specialist Tom Krupka was tasked with analyzing and refining the overall user experience. “We really focused on creating a cleaner experience from the viewpoint of prospective students,” he explains. “We also wanted to be sure the new site was accessible on any device without losing any content.”
The new site’s unveiling on Dec. 16 is only phase one of a multifaceted rollout. New features and updates will be delivered on a regular basis.
While the new site officially launches, you can take a sneak peek and share your feedback at next.wayne.edu.
