Wayne State offers in-state tuition to undergraduate students from fellow Great Lakes states

Residents of states bordering a Great Lake now stand to save thousands of dollars each semester with Wayne State University's new Great Lakes Tuition Award.

The program offers in-state tuition - plus a 10 percent fee - to undergraduate students from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Ontario, Canada. Students taking 15-credit hours per semester will save an average of $11,633 per each year.

In addition to this substantial award, residents from Great Lakes-bordering states are now eligible for all five merit-based scholarships at Wayne State; offering qualifying students the potential to save up to an additional  $11,500 per year.

"Wayne State is proud to offer the Great Lakes Tuition Award," said WSU Provost Margaret E. Winters. "We look forward to giving a broader array of students the opportunity to take advantage of a very reasonable tuition base to attend this top research university."
