Each year, members of the Department of English’s creative writing faculty invite writers to share their work with the campus during the @Noon Reading Series.  The writers are often from the region and are featured with current WSU advanced creative writing students.

The series is co-sponsored by the Department of English and the New York literary organization Poets & Writers Inc.

“The readings provide a significant enhancement to the experience of student writers at Wayne State,” says Caroline Maun, associate professor of English. “They foster connections between writers both beginning and advanced in their craft.”

The 2013-14 academic year marks the series’ fifth year. Michael Paterniti, a creative nonfiction writer, opened the series with student Kyle Callert on Sept. 26.

Poet Thomas Lux will read with student Vincent Perrone on October 14 and poet francine j. harris will read with student Christine Bettis on November 4. Visit clasweb.clas.wayne.edu/creativewriting for additional readings.

The series ends April 14, 2014. All events are held from noon to 1 p.m. in room 10302 on the 10th floor of 5057 Woodward. Each reading is followed by a question and answer session and time to socialize.  Light refreshments are provided.
