Wayne State University has experts prepared to discuss historical and political background related to Central Asia, including Chechnya and Kazakhstan, the reported home region of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.
• Aaron Retish, associate professor of history, can discuss the historical perspective of Russia’s political, legal and cultural development.
• Kevin Deegan-Krause, associate professor of political science, can speak about the political structure in Chechnya and offer historical background.
• Saeed Kahn, WSU lecturer on ethnic identity politics and Islamic & Muslim history, is prepared to comment about the ethnic composition in the Central Asia region.
