Wayne State University experts available for comment on automotive stories regarding the 2013 North American International Auto Show

The following Wayne State University experts are available this week to provide commentary and analysis to support coverage of the 2013 North American International Auto Show. Please contact Wayne State University public relations to arrange an interview.


Jerry Ku, associate professor, Wayne State University College of Engineering – Ku is available to discuss electric-drive vehicle powertrain modeling and simulations, electric-drive vehicle engineering graduate education programs, EcoCAR2 North American student design competition and alternative energy technology.

King Yang, professor of Biomedical Engineering & director of WSU’s Bioengineering Center – Yang can discuss advances in automotive safety, automobile safety ratings and injury research.

Simon Ng, professor of Chemical and Materials Science Engineering, College of Engineering -- Ng is available to discuss alternative energy, electric drive vehicles, and advanced energy storage systems.

Tapan Datta, professor, College of Engineering -- Datta specializes in transportation engineering as well as traffic engineering and safety.

Naeim Henein, professor and director of Wayne State's Center for Automotive Research - Henein's experience includes diesel and gasoline engines combustion, emission controls, sensors, alternate and renewable fuels.

Ming-Chia Lai, professor, College of Engineering -- Dr. Lai, Fellow of SAE, has led a distinguished career in automotive engineering, and has extensive knowledge about automotive powertrain, thermal management, as well as other timely topics.

Steven Salley, professor, College of Engineering -- Salley is prepared to address alternative fuels and issues specific to energy and the environment.

Abe Biswas, professor of Marketing -- Biswas can discuss marketing research, consumer spending and behavior and marketing theory.
