MEDIA ADVISORY: Wayne State hosts Debate Watch Oct. 16

More than 500 students expected to attend, view the presidential debate and discuss

WHAT: 
Wayne State’s Department of Communication, the Dean of Students Office, the Center for the Study of Citizenship and the WSU Student Center will host a campus-wide non-partisan presidential Debate Watch at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 16, 2012.  After viewing the national broadcast, students and community members are invited to participate in several small group discussions to express their reactions to the debate.

Members of the acclaimed WSU debate team will be available to speak with the media. Members will be scoring the debate and providing their impressions regarding the effectiveness of the candidates’ arguments.

Additionally, Kelly Young and Ron Stevenson, professors of communication and coaches for the team, will be available for comment.

WHEN:
 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16.

WHERE:
Student Center Building Ballroom, 5221 Gullen Mall on WSU's main campus.
