The Director of the Institute of Gerontology, Dr. Peter Lichtenberg, has been honored with the 2012 Committee on Aging Award from the American Psychological Association.
The award recognizes one individual each year who shows "outstanding achievement and made significant contributions to the mission of the Committee on Aging." The committee works toward the optimal development of older adults, expanded scientific understanding of adult development and aging, and the delivery of appropriate psychological services to older persons.
Dr. Lichtenberg will receive the award on August 4, at the annual convention of the American Psychological Association.
