DETROIT — What are the best ways to bring in new clients and new work? Business development for lawyers will be the topic of a free presentation and panel discussion offered by the Wayne Law Alumni Association. The event is set from 6 to 8 p.m. June 12 in the Spencer Partrich Auditorium at the Wayne State University Law School, 471 W. Palmer St.

Elise Iafrate, a 2003 Wayne Law graduate and client development manager at Warner Norcross & Judd, will share her strategies for finding target markets, building relationships, executing the sales process and closing the deal.

Panelists Doug Wagner, ’76, managing partner with Warner Norcross & Judd, and Iwona Villaire, ’99, corporate counsel at CooperStandard, also will offer their perspectives on business development. Wagner is a private practitioner and Villaire is an in-house attorney who hires outside counsel.

Parking for $5 will be available in Structure I across the street from the Law School on West Palmer.

Catch up with fellow Law alumni at the Fountain Bistro, rated one of metro Detroit’s top 10 new restaurants for 2011 by the Detroit Free Press, from 6 to 8 p.m. June 28. The eatery is at 800 Woodward Ave. at the end of Campus Martius Park. The free event features a cash bar.

All alumni and current students are welcome. Members of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors will be there to talk about upcoming alumni events and to hear thoughts and ideas for the Alumni Association and the Law School.
