WHEN: Thursday, March 22, 2-4 p.m.

WHERE: Wayne State University Law School Building, Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer, Detroit.

MORE INFO: Anger is a universal emotion experienced equally by men and women and found in all cultures and nationalities. However, culture-specific norms and display rules and gender-role socialization appear to heavily influence the way men and women express anger across cultures. This presentation will explore how cultural norms as well as gender-role socialization messages sanction expressions of anger.

González-Prendes is a WSU alumnus who earned a Ph.D. from the College of Education and an M.S.W. from the School of Social Work. He is an experienced social work clinical practitioner with research interests that revolve around the investigation of cognitive, emotional and cultural dimensions of anger.
