"Since joining Wayne State last year, Margaret Williams has been an asset to the university," Brown said. "We are confident in her leadership, and believe her management and strategic planning experience will help advance the mission of School of Business Administration."
Williams has taught at the undergraduate, M.B.A. and doctoral levels; her subject areas include organizational behavior, human resources and research methods.
Her research on employee compensation, leadership, employee perceptions of fairness in the workplace and work-life issues appears in many of the nation's top management journals. She has served on several editorial review boards for academic and practitioner journals and is a member of the executive committee of the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management.
Before entering higher education, Williams held management and human resource positions in an agency serving developmentally disabled young people.
She earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior and human resources management from Indiana University.
