- On October 22, 2010 the Hilberry Company continues its 48th season with the critically acclaimed Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck. This classic tale and Nobel Prize-winning novella about two migrant workers' quest for the American Dream portrays the desire for independence and the nature of human existence. Of Mice and Men Director Tony Schmitt's take on Steinbeck's story focuses on the relationships between individuals and the idea that "you need to have somebody to talk to... even if the other person is only half there." The play runs in rotating repertory until February 5, 2011. Tickets are $25-$30 and are available by calling the Hilberry Theatre Box Office at 313-577-2972, online at www.hilberry.com, or by visiting the box office at 4743 Cass Ave. on the corner of Cass Ave. and Hancock.

As a special offer, Of Mice and Men is being paired with the Bonstelle Theatre's production of To Kill a Mockingbird. Chosen as audience favorites, you can attend both award-winning American masterpieces for $25. Contact the Hilberry box office and ask for "The American Literature Classics" package to reserve tickets.

Of Mice and Men cast members include Alan Ball (Candy), Jason Cabral (Curley), Edmund Jones (Crooks), Erman Jones (Lennie), Adam Maslak (Whit), Andrew Papa (The Boss), Peter Prouty (George), Vanessa Sawson (Curley's Wife), David Toomey (Carlson), and Jordan Whalen (Slim).
