MEDIA ADVISORY - WSU Annual Mortuary Science Open House set for Oct. 14


What: Annual Mortuary Science Open House, Wayne State University

Why: Visit the Mortuary Science Building and learn about the programs of Mortuary Science, Anatomic Pathologists' Assistant, Forensic Investigation and Clinical Laboratory Science. Tour embalming, anatomy, restorative arts, and microbiology laboratories. The bomb response mobile unit of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) also is expected to be onsite.

The open house began in 1991 as a small gathering of alumni, friends, students and parents. The event draws between 500 and 900 guests each year to tour the building.

When: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14

Where: Mortuary Science Building
5439 Woodward Avenue at Ferry, three blocks north of Warren Avenue, Detroit, Michigan

Public parking available free-of-charge at Wayne State University Parking Lot 33,
on Woodward Avenue between Ferry and Palmer streets.

Mortuary Science is a program of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
