Detroit (March 4, 2010) - Wayne State University Law School congratulates 11 students recently elected to The Journal of Law in Society 2010-2011 Board.
Students elected to the 2010-2011 Board include: Editor-in-Chief Jason Eggert; Managing Editor Heather Amico; Symposium Director Julianna Rivera; Reviewing Editor Ahmad Chehab; Business Editor Amy Bartold; Public Relations Director Aaron Silvenis; Article Editors Paul Isso and Rachel Reed; Note Editors Jessica Domke, Josh Lushnat and Bethany Stawasz.
"My congratulations to the new members of the Journal of Law in Society Board," said Wayne Law Dean Robert M. Ackerman. "The outgoing Board has really advanced The Journal as an important scholarly voice, and I am confident that the new Board will be equally effective. I look forward to working with them."
The incoming Board will officially begin its tenure on the first Monday following Commencement in May.
The Journal of Law in Society was established by Wayne Law students in 1997 to provide for the scholarly evaluation of the law in relation to various segments of society. The Journal addresses social policy issues in a legal context, with participation from legal scholars, jurists, practitioners and students.
The Journal is managed and edited by Wayne Law students. Membership is limited to students who participate in a competitive write-on process held each year during May and June. The Journal is published twice annually during the academic year. Additionally, The Journal Board hosts an annual academic symposium every spring. This year's symposium is titled "Rebuilding the Post-Industrial City" and will be held March 26, 2010 in the Law School's Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium.
