DETROIT (Feb. 22, 2010) - Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Silverstein as a major gifts officer in the Law School's Development and Alumni Relations Office.
Silverstein, who joined the Wayne Law team in fall 2009, is responsible for raising funds for student scholarships and faculty support. He will also be working to help complete funding for Wayne Law's Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights.
"I am excited to officially welcome Michael Silverstein to Wayne Law," said Dean Robert M. Ackerman. "Michael is enthusiastic about promoting Wayne Law's mission in the broader community. I welcome his experience and vision as he works with Mary Hollens, Wayne Law senior director of Development and Alumni Relations, to strengthen our outreach efforts."

A resident of Troy, Mich., Silverstein has gained development experience with a variety of non-profit organizations. He also has held positions in sales and marketing at Steelcase Inc. and Saturn Corporation, and ran his own corporate training company from 1998 to 2003.
Silverstein is a past president of the Troy Foundation for Educational Excellence and Congregation Shir Tikvah. He is a native of East Grand Rapids and earned a bachelor's degree in business law and marketing from the University of Michigan.
