More Info:
This event is an opportunity for people in the community (e.g., business owners, civic organizational leaders, etc.) to ask questions about health care reform to a panel of non-partisan, academic experts from Wayne State University.
This non-partisan event is designed to educate and inform, and is intended as a public service. Members of Michigan's Congressional delegation or their advocates will not be in attendance. The polemic and political theatre that has characterized much of the summer's health care conversation will be strongly discouraged.

"There is a tremendous amount of confusion and misunderstanding about health care reform. This is a complex, deeply personal issue and there has been a concerted effort to disseminate misleading or inaccurate information. The goal of this event is to create an opportunity for Southeast Michigan residents to have their questions answered in a non-partisan, fact-based environment," said WDET General Manager J. Mikel Ellcessor.

Panelists include:

Dr. Herb Smitherman, Wayne State University dean of community and urban health
Allen Goodman, Wayne State University economics professor with a specialty in urban and health economics
Todd Zwillich, Capitol Hill correspondent for The Takeaway, WDET's morning news program.
Nancy M. George, Wayne State University assistant professor, College of Nursing
