DETROIT (June 10, 2009) - Wayne State University Law School is pleased to announce the addition of five men and women who will join the faculty at the start of the 2009-2010 academic year. They include Assistant Professor Christopher Lund, Associate Professor Adele Morrison, Assistant Professor Aaron Perzanowski and Assistant Professor (Clinical) Rachel Settlage. Wayne Law will also welcome Sharon Keller, who will serve one year as a visiting professor.

"I am delighted that the Law School was able to bring on board such a talented and exciting group of new professors," said Professor Jonathan Weinberg, who served on the Law School's Faculty Appointments Committee. "It's a pleasure to welcome them to Wayne Law. I am looking forward to our working together."

Assistant Professor Christopher Lund, next year, will teach courses in Contracts, Torts and Evidence, and Law and Religion. He most recently served as an assistant professor of law at the Mississippi College of Law. He also served as a law clerk for the Hon. Karen Moore, of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit; was a Madison Fellow at Americans United for Separation of Church and State; practiced law at Dechert, LLP in Philadelphia; and was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Houston Law School.

Lund earned a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Rice University. His publications are in the field of law and religion.

Associate Professor Adele Morrison, next year, will teach courses in Criminal Law, Family Law and Child, Family & State. She most recently served as visiting professor of law and acting director of the Civil Justice Clinic at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She has taught at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Western New England College School of Law, the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law and the Northern Illinois University College of Law. She served as program director for the San Francisco Neighborhood Legal Assistance Foundation and the Dane County Commission on Sensitive Crimes in Madison, Wis.

Morrison earned an LL.M. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from San Francisco State University. Her publications are in the areas of family law, domestic violence and LGBT studies.

Assistant Professor Aaron Perzanowski, next year, will teach courses in the area of Intellectual Property Law. He most recently served as the Microsoft research fellow at the Center for Law & Technology at the University of California, Berkeley, teaching Cyberlaw and Intellectual Property Law for the Information Industries. He practiced law at Fenwick and West in San Francisco.

Perzanowski earned a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and an A.B. from Kenyon College. His publications are in the areas of intellectual property and copyright.

Assistant Professor (Clinical) Rachel Settlage, next year, will teach internship courses and is expected to supervise a new Wayne Law Immigration Law Clinic. She most recently served as a clinical fellow with the University of Baltimore School of Law's Immigrant Rights Clinic. She has also practiced law at the Asylum Program of Southern Arizona; served as a Senior Researcher at the U.S. Department of State, Office of the Historian; and served as a Foreign Affairs Officer/Senior Editor at the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor.

Settlage earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Her publications are in the areas of immigration and domestic violence.

Visiting Professor Sharon Keller, next year, will teach courses in Consumer Law, Corporations, Agency and Partnership, and Non-profit Entities. She most recently served as a visiting professor of law at Penn State Dickinson School of Law. She has also served as a visiting associate professor at the University of Maryland School of Law; was an associate professor at Gonzaga University School of Law; served as research associate professor of law and assistant dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Miami School of Law; and practiced law at Covington and Burling in Washington, D.C.

Keller earned a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an M.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a B.A. from Antioch College. Her publications are in the fields of religion and public education.
