Wayne Law Student Receives Association of Corporate Counsel Scholarship

\"\" DETROIT (April 16, 2009) - Third-year Wayne State University Law School student Brian Aquart received a $3,000 scholarship at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Scholarship Reception held at Wayne Law on March 26, 2009.
Having no prior connection to the ACC, Aquart learned about the scholarship through the efforts of the Wayne Law Dean of Students Office.

"The Wayne Law Dean of Students Office has been great in keeping students abreast of scholarship opportunities," Aquart said. "I am extremely grateful to the ACC and its scholarship committee for their recognition of my achievements. In these tough economic times, scholarships such as this one are a blessing and will assist in offsetting the costs of bar preparation."

Aquart earned his undergraduate degree in business management from the University of Florida in 2006. Upon graduation from Wayne Law, he plans to pursue a career in business and corporate law.

"I have a strong interest in corporate and business law because it is essential for our economy's success," he said. "My career goals revolve around pairing my business management background with my law degree in hopes of opening opportunities to practice in the business sector nationwide. By learning more about the inner workings of large corporate entities and small businesses, I will be able to effectively advise my clients in their business dealings and positively contribute to our economy's success."
