TechTown's free event instructs entrepreneurs about business growth programs in Detroit

DETROIT, February 24, 2009-TechTown has revamped its monthly networking events, First Fridays, to make them even more useful to entrepreneurs and innovators. In addition to networking and guest speakers, First Fridays feature breakout rooms with experienced staff who will talk to attendees about ways to grow their businesses. Breakout rooms will have information on funding resources in Michigan, unique leasing opportunities at TechTown, and global business opportunities.

March's event features three speakers discussing business accelerator programs that can boost your Detroit business to the next level.

Featured speakers:

• Ross Sanders, Executive Director, Bizdom U. Bizdom U is a one-year entrepreneurial bootcamp that empowers its graduates to open successful businesses.
• Constance Payne-Logan, U.S. Small Business Administration's Emerging 200. The SBA launched the e200 initiative in 15 U.S. cities, including Detroit, to support inner-city small businesses with substantial growth potential.
• Ebony Johnson, Support Leader, SmartStart. SmartStart is TechTown's 24-month business growth program that helps innovative startups overcome hurdles and maximize revenue growth.
