The exhibit opens Friday, Oct. 31 at Wayne State's Walter P. Reuther Library and is co-sponsored by the Leonard N. Simons Jewish Community Archives of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.

From their respective archives, both the Reuther Library and the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit have contributed photographs and documents that recognize the lives and contributions of those who have created landmarks of lasting value at the university.

The exhibit runs through Feb. 4, 2009.

"From the beginnings of Wayne State University, many of its students and leading patrons have come from Metro Detroit's Jewish community," said Mike Smith, director of the Walter P. Reuther Library. "This exhibit celebrates, and is a tribute to, the partnerships between the university and the Jewish community through an exhibit featuring the 16 buildings on campus funded by members of that community."

The exhibit is free and open to the public at the Reuther Library, 5401 Cass Ave., Detroit. Operating hours are Monday-Tuesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
