Wayne State School of Business Named a "Best Business School"

Wayne State University School of Business Administration is an outstanding business school, according to The Princeton Review.  The New York-based education services company features the school in the just-published 2009 edition of its "Best 296 Business Schools" (Random House / Princeton Review, Oct. 7, 2008, $22.95).

According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review VP-Publishing, "We select schools for this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and offerings, institutional data we collect from the schools, and the candid opinions of students attending them who rate and report on their campus experiences at the schools.  We are pleased to recommend Wayne State to readers of our book and users of our website as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA."

"Best 296 Business Schools" has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity and career placement services.  In the profile on Wayne State, the Princeton Review editors describe the school as providing "a progressive MBA program to a serious population of working professionals."   They quote from students attending it, including one who says the MBA coursework "is pertinent to my profession, and I take what I learn and use it every day in the workplace."

In a "Survey Says. . ." sidebar in the profile, The Princeton Review lists topics that Wayne State students it surveyed for the book were in most agreement about.   The list includes: "cutting edge classes," and "solid preparation in accounting and general management."   The Princeton Review's 80-question survey asked students about themselves, their career plans, and their schools' academics, student body and campus life.

The Princeton Review does not rank the schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 296, or name one business school best overall.   The list is posted at www.PrincetonReview.com.

Wayne State University is a premier research institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic degree programs through 13 schools and colleges to more than 31,000 students.

The School of Business Administration at Wayne State University has graduated more than 30,000 business and community professionals since its founding in 1946 and continues to provide quality business education through AACSB accredited business degree programs.

"Best 296 Business Schools" also has advice on applying to business schools and funding the degree.   The book is one of nearly 200 Princeton Review titles published by Random House.  The line includes annual guides to the best law schools and medical schools, plus guides to grad school admission exams and application essays.  The Princeton Review is also known for its college and career guidebooks, its test-prep courses and other education services.   The company is not affiliated with Princeton University and it is not a magazine.
