Media Advisory -- Business & Technology Camp Gives 30 High School Students a Glimpse of College, Work Life

WHAT:
Wayne State University's School of Business Administration's E-commerce Summer Camp students demonstrate, display and present Websites that they designed to address a business and technology challenge that will give them a leg up in preparation for life after high school.

WHEN:
Friday, July 18 from 9 - 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:
Wayne State University's Meyer & Anna Prentis Building in room 23, 5201 Cass Ave. in Detroit.

MORE INFO:
Approximately 6-7 groups of 29 E-commerce Summer Camp students from Detroit and Inkster will display and present their newly developed Websites. These students were presented with a business and technology challenge-create a business plan for how to sell a product online, develop a marketing page and create a payment page explaining how to purchase the product. In addition, some have included a history page. The students are getting a jump start on life by attending the nine-week E-commerce Summer Camp which combines classroom instruction on business, technology, college preparation and life skills with a paid summer internship and mentoring. The top 10 graduates from the program receive a free computer system.
