The event was designed especially for transfer students, veterans, and adults who are making a career change or have experienced a layoff and would like to learn more about the opportunities that Wayne State University has to offer.
Faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss WSU's various academic programs, career services and to explain Michigan's No Worker Left Behind Program.
Participants can also attend presentations to learn more about WSU's programs and services such as Financial Aid, University Advising, the Academic Success Center and Military & Veterans Affairs.
Representatives from several of Wayne State schools and colleges will also be present to discuss available programs in business, nursing, health sciences, engineering technology, and education.
"We at Wayne State feel very strongly about helping adults get back in the work force through education," says Susan Zweig, director of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. "This certainly includes metro Detroit's laid-off workers, our veterans and our transfer students. We want them to know first-hand about our programs and the career services we can provide."
The event is free and open to the public. RSVP by calling (313) 577-3577 or online at www.openhouse.wayne.edu/transition.php.
Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic programs through 11 schools and colleges to more than 33,000 students.
