Wayne State University's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Readathon Honors Civil Rights Accomplishments January 17 and 18, 2008

The inspirational words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other famous civil rights leaders, including Nelson Mandela, Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X, will be read during the 24-hour Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Readathon at Wayne State University.

The event, which will begin at noon Thursday, Jan. 17 and last until noon Friday, Jan. 18, will take place in a heated tent outside the WSU Undergraduate Library except for the last hour. During the final hour on Friday, Jan. 18 from 11 a.m. to noon, a special reading at the Max M. Fisher Music Hall will conclude the readathon and begin a Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute luncheon.

The community, along with Wayne State’s students and employees, are invited to read and listen. Those interested in reading can sign up at doso.wayne.edu.
