Get into the Holiday Spirit at the President's Holiday Lighting Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 5

Enjoy the warmth and spirit of the holidays with lights, music and hot chocolate at the President’s Holiday Lighting Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 5 p.m. outside the Wayne State University Undergraduate Library. The tree-lighting event will illuminate the center of the campus in celebration of the holiday season and entertain everyone with holiday music and songs.

To add to the holiday cheer, all current Wayne State students who attend will be eligible to enter a raffle to win an Apple iPod and the first 150 students in attendance will receive a voucher for a free Wayne State Knit Cap.

Participants are asked to donate items for Wayne Cares, the Coalition on Temporary Shelter (COTS) critical needs drive, during the Holiday Lighting Celebration. Suggested donations include toiletries, canned goods, nonperishable food, children’s clothing for all ages, baby food and items, diapers, adult clothing, shoes and boots.

The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Dean of Students Office and Student Center Administration. For more information, visit doso.wayne.edu or call (313) 577-1010.
