Wayne State University’s Office of International Students and Scholars will be hosting more than 20 events during International Education Week, Nov. 12-16, at various locations around campus. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of WSU’s efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States.

“Throughout the week, there will be many cultural events taking place at several locations on the Wayne State campus,” said Linda Seatts, director of the Office of International Students and Scholars. “We are pleased to kick off the event with international author and speaker Frank Wu, WSU Law School dean, who will enlighten us on living in a Global United States.”

Other sessions include: “Japanese – U.S. relations;” “Globalization and the Michigan Economy;” “Moving from International Students to Professional Careers,” led by Ahmad Ezzeddine, WSU associate vice president for Educational Outreach and International Programs, who started at WSU as an international student. Some additional events are: “International Jeopardy,” a “Global Fashion Show,” and the “WSU Olympics” featuring basketball, table tennis, volleyball and soccer, and much more.

International Week is a celebration of diversity and multiculturalism designed to educate, enlighten and entertain. All sessions and events are free. Food may be purchased at the “Taste the Nations” patio.
