School of Business Administration at Wayne State University attracts capacity group of recruiters for Oct. 4 career fair

48 companies will be represented

The Wayne State University School of Business Administration will hold its annual Career Day job fair on Oct. 4 at the Student Center Building on the main campus. Exclusively for WSU students, Career Day has traditionally attracted a full house of recruiters, and this year is no exception. Despite Michigan’s economic challenges, recruiters from 48 companies will fill the Student Center ballroom to capacity.

“We held a career fair for accounting firms for the first time last month, and it was a tremendous success, with 14 firms represented, including the Big Four,” said Brenda Paine, director of the business school’s Career Planning and Placement Office. “The recruiters were very impressed with the caliber of our students. We anticipate the same response at the upcoming Career Day, where we expect more than 400 students.”

Companies and organizations participating in Career Day include the following: Chrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., The Dow Chemical Co., Eli Lilly and Co., Palace Sports & Entertainment, Target Corp., Fifth Third Bank, the Internal Revenue Service and Ernst & Young. Nearly 40 others also will be on hand.

Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic programs through 11 schools and colleges to more than 33,000 students.
