DETROIT, Mich. – Sept. 13, 2007…..First Gentleman of the State of Michigan, successful author and speaker, Daniel Granholm Mulhern, has been added to the powerful list of keynote speakers at E2detroit; the most prestigious entrepreneurial and excellence symposium in Michigan, on October 1 and 2, 2007 at Wayne State University.

E2detroit supports both current and up-and-coming entrepreneurs as it combines the best and brightest leaders and business community in the southeast region to share ideas about the tools and relationships necessary to launch and grow a successful business. E2detroit also assists entrepreneurs in locating funding sources, qualified management and facilities for successful company operations.

Daniel G. Mulhern, consultant, author, speaker, radio show host and First Gentleman of the State of Michigan will speak on Day Two of the E2detroit symposium. Mulhern will address emerging topics affecting everyday leaders as he shares stories and illuminates the leadership lessons that help everyday people achieve greater results in every facet of life. These ideas are also the topics of Mulhern’s recently published book, Everyday Leadership: Getting Results in Business, Politics, and Life. Mulhern discusses successful strategies and various misconceptions he has encountered as he offers ideas on negotiating the many challenges that leadership roles can create. He will also be on-hand during the cocktail reception to sign copies of this popular management book.

Daniel G. Mulhern has become one of the hardest working volunteers in the State of Michigan since his wife’s election into public office as Michigan’s Governor in 2002. Mulhern is a champion for the cause of state volunteerism and community service as he chairs the Michigan Community Service Commission, works with the Office of Great Workplace Development and serves as Honorary Vice-Chair of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. He has also taken a large role in promoting Michigan’s companies, the work they are undertaking, and increasing their recognition as “great companies to work for.” In March Dan launched a successful radio show on the Michigan Talk Network, focusing on leadership in business and in the family.

The Wayne State University Venture Development Office, as host of E2detroit, works with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to leverage Wayne State innovations and create early-stage technology companies. The goal of the Venture Development Office is to establish the tools and relationships necessary to launch a successful business.
