Wayne State University School of Business Administration professor selected for award by Academy of Marketing Science

\"\"/The Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) will honor Wayne State University marketing professor Attila Yaprak, of Ann Arbor, with an Outstanding Marketing Teacher Award at the Academy’s 2007 Annual Conference in Coral Gables, Florida, May 23. Yaprak teaches in WSU’s School of Business Administration.

The award recognizes marketing educators who have made significant contributions to the dissemination of marketing knowledge through their teaching and scholarly activities. The AMS focuses exclusively on the marketing professoriate and is in the forefront of the marketing discipline.

Yaprak has served as director of the Center for International Business Studies at Wayne State and as associate dean for research in the School of Business Administration. He also held the appointment of executive secretary of the Academy of International Business. He earned undergraduate and MBA degrees from Indiana University and a Ph.D. from Georgia State University and is recognized internationally for his research on global marketing issues. His work has been published in more than a dozen journals, and he has served as an area editor at the Journal of Business Research. He is on the editorial review boards of many journals.

Yaprak is the recipient of numerous awards, including the WSU Distinguished Faculty Award, the Wayne State University President\'s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the School of Business Administration Graduate Award for Excellence in Teaching and the school’s Distinguished Teacher Award. He has taught doctoral, graduate and undergraduate courses, as well as faculty and executive development seminars in China, France, Germany, the Philippines, Spain, and Turkey and at the Universities of Michigan, Michigan State, South Carolina, and Memphis. His research has been funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation. He has consulted for the International Trade Center, the United Nations, China, Nepal, the Philippines, and Thailand.
