Bonstelle Theatre 2007-2008 Season |
Opening the 2007-2008 season is Uncommon Women and Others by Wendy Wasserstein. This funny, touching and at times excessive story shares feminist ideas of five close friends who, after graduating college, look back on the events that have touched and changed their lives. Uncommon Women and Others plays October 19 – 28, 2007.
Continuing the season is Black Nativity by the prolific writer, Langston Hughes. This holiday show and Black Theatre Program production makes a soulful noise. This musical will leave the audience with affectionate hearts as it tells the story of Jesus Christ’s birth. Black Nativity plays December 7 – 16, 2007.
The third production is The Rimers of Eldritch by Lanford Wilson. Desperation, raw power and raw sex are at the heart of this intense story that pushes people into social intolerance. The Rimers of Eldritch plays February 22 – March 2, 2008.
The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare will be closing out the Bonstelle season. Bianca is courteous and admired while her sister Kate is foul tempered and iron willed. No one dares to marry Kate until Petruchio arrives and tries his hand at courtship. Passion divides and unites this feisty pair of lovers in this 16th-century battle of the sexes. The Taming of the Shrew will be playing April 18 – 27, 2008.
