Celebrate Black History Month with the wisdom of words! In honor of Black History Month, Wayne State University Press will be hosting an Africana Studies book sale and Meet the Press open house on Thursday, February 22, in the Press offices at 4809 Woodward Avenue from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The open house will include a brief presentation on how the Press turns a manuscript into a published book. Informational handouts on publishing, internships, and the Press’s books will also be available.
This is a perfect opportunity to find out more about African American heritage, the world of publishing, and to purchase books at a great savings! The Press will be raffling off copies of their best-selling book, A History of the African American People: The History, Traditions, and Culture of African Americans edited by James Oliver Horton and Lois E. Horton. Cookies and coffee will also be served!
