8th Annual Lent Upson Lecture to be held March 29 at Wayne State University

Thomas Clay, a long time Michigan public service professional, is the featured speaker at the 8th Annual Lent Upson Lecture, on March 29, 5 p.m., at Wayne State University’s McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 Ferry Mall, in Detroit.

Clay is a well-known authority on government financial affairs in Michigan, and will be talking about his lengthy and distinguished public service career. His lecture is titled, “Reflections on 40 Years of Work in Government Finance.”

Clay served from 1997 until just recently as Director of State Affairs of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan. Previously, he served in state government in various positions, including Director of Michigan’s Executive Budget Office. Clay holds degrees in economics from Miami University (Ohio) and Michigan State University.

The free lecture is open to the public and will be followed by a reception at 6 p.m. The Public Administration Awards Banquet, which requires reservations and costs $20 per person, follows at 7:15 p.m. Contact Darthy Vasquez at 313-577-6327; email: ab8091@wayne.edu.
