Students and others under age 23 who plan to attend college but are concerned about costs will find encouragement and assistance applying for financial aid at three Detroit-area sessions coordinated by Wayne State University on Sunday, Feb. 11, from 2-4 p.m. Financial aid representatives will be available to answer questions and to assist students and families in completing the “Free Application for Federal Student Aid” (FAFSA) form for 2005-2006.
The program is sponsored by the Michigan Student Financial Aid Association in conjunction with Partnership for Learning. It is part of Michigan College Goal Sunday, a statewide program that began in 2004. Similar sessions, hosted by other educational institutions, will be held simultaneously at some two dozen other sites throughout Michigan. The Wayne State-directed sites are listed below.

Students should attend with a parent or guardian, who must have available their completed 2005 IRS tax return form, W-2 forms and any other income and benefit information from that year.
“Students who would like to attend college should not let fears about costs discourage them from pursuing their dreams and career goals,” emphasizes Deirdre Moore, interim director of the WSU Student Financial Aid Office. “Filling out financial aid application forms correctly and on time is the first important step in the process."
