The Detroit Public Library has extended its exhibition of photographs from the best-selling American City: Detroit Architecture, 1845–2005, by William Zbaren and Robert Sharoff. The exhibit will remain open at the Main Library, 5201 Woodward Avenue, until early 2007!
v The exhibit is located in Adam Strohm Hall, on the third floor of the Main Library.
v Hours: Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:00–8:00 PM; Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; closed Sunday and Monday. Admission to the exhibit is free. For more information, please see www.detroit.lib.mi.us.
Saturday, December 2: Join Wayne State University Press at the American City photography exhibit for Noel Night, Midtown Detroit’s annual holiday celebration. We will be in the Adam Strohm Hall exhibit space from 5:00–9:00 PM, offering American City and other popular titles at a special holiday discount. William Zbaren and Robert Sharoff, the photographer and author of American City, will also be on-hand to sign copies of their book!
Sunday, December 3: Poet Jack Ridl, author of Broken Symmetry, will be reading his poetry and signing copies of his book as part of the History Sundays program at the Detroit Historical Museum, 5401 Woodward Avenue, at 1:00 PM.
