Community leader Edsel B. Ford II will be the featured speaker examining the status of regional planning initiatives and discussing opportunities for involvement, on Thursday, Nov. 16 in Southfield. Detroit Free Press columnist Desiree Cooper will serve as moderator.
Wayne State University’s Detroit Orientation Institute has partnered with area leadership organizations to present “The Spirit of Regional Cooperation,” to be held at the Southfield Westin, 7:30-9:30 a.m. The Southfield Westin is located at 1500 Town Center.
The program is sponsored by Leaders Without Borders, a group of area leadership organizations and programs from Southeast Michigan and Southwest Ontario who joined forces in the spirit of regional cooperation. Since its inception in 2002, over 3,000 leaders have united to provide opportunities for networking and education on regional issues and challenges.
“A major component of Wayne State University’s mission is our commitment to Detroit and Southeast Michigan,” said Nancy Barrett, Wayne State provost and senior vice president. “We are proud to be a partner with leaders who share our spirit of regional involvement.”
In addition to Wayne State’s Detroit Orientation Institute, Leaders Without Borders partners include: Leadership Detroit, Leadership Macomb, Leadership Oakland and Leadership Windsor/Essex.
