WSU Engineering Names Seven New Hall of Famers

Two Big Three auto company executives, an auto supplier, a building contractor, a glass manufacturing executive, a civil engineering firm CEO and the director of a petroleum refining acquisition company have been named to the Wayne State College of Engineering Hall of Fame.

These six successful men and one woman have joined a prestigious group of 100 engineering alumni with outstanding professional accomplishments when they were inducted at Night of the Stars, the college’s annual celebration of achievement at the Detroit Science Center Friday, October 27.

The new inductees are General Motors Accessories Executive Director Nancy Philippart, Chrysler Group Executive Vice President Frank Klegon, Tillotson Limited Chairman J. Gerald Demirjian, E. C. Korneffel Co. CEO Curt Korneffel, Guardian Glass Group President Russell Ebeid, Lakeshore Engineering Services, Inc. CEO Avinash Rachmale, and Northern Tier Refining Acquisitions Co. Director Hank Kuchta.  

Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education, offering more than 350 academic programs through 11 schools and colleges to more than 33,000 students in metropolitan Detroit. The College of Engineering, with more than 2,600 undergraduate and graduate students, offers a wide range of fully accredited engineering disciplines. Its well-respected graduates represent a large force in Michigan industry and the engineering field.
