Wayne State implements new radio system

The Wayne State University Police Department has installed a new radio system in the 800 megahertz band. Funded by a federal grant, the new capability makes WSU police dispatch a fully functional backup to the city of Detroit 's police communication system, making it the seventh such dispatch location in the city. The system also is compatible with the university's older 450-megahertz system.
