Detroit may get fuel plant

Biodiesel Industries, Inc. is preparing to break ground next month and begin construction on a $6-10 million biodiesel production plant in Detroit - the first of its kind in southeast Michigan . The project was first announced last September as part of the alternative-energy R&D efforts of NextEnergy, a Detroit-based nonprofit organization. These same efforts were funded by NextEnergy, Biodiesel Industries, and Wayne State University, among others.
