British high-brow slapstick has few parallels in American humor

An article about the Monty Python comedy troupe and the reasons for their success mentions a book about the group from Wayne State University Press. Marcia Landy, author of "Monty Python's Flying Circus," describes one reason for the group's success: "They take everyday life, make it strange and really poke fun at things that people might privately think are problematic."
