The International Advertising Association (IAA) has announced its accreditation of the Wayne State University School of Business Administration’s Marketing Communications curriculum. IAA based its accreditation decision on a review of courses, faculty qualifications, and resources available to students. School of Business Administration students who complete the marketing communications curricula will receive IAA’s Diploma in Marketing Communications in addition to their Wayne State University diploma.
The School of Business Administration’s rigorous marketing communications curriculum includes advertising and marketing subjects, an integrated marketing communications campaign project, and a semester equivalent of professional experience fulfilled either through an internship or supervised work assignments.
“Wayne State’s School of Business Administration is proud to add this distinction to the School’s accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International,” said Academic Associate Dean Richard F. Beltramini who is a member of the Marketing faculty. AACSB has awarded 527 member institutions with AACSB business accreditation.
Founded in 1938, the International Advertising Association is a global partnership of advertisers, agencies, media, service providers, and educators. It is comprised of more than 4,000 members in 76 countries with 53 accredited schools – all of which are leading universities, colleges, and professional schools worldwide. Along with Wayne State University, other U.S. schools include Michigan State University, University of Florida, George Washington University, Villanova University, and Emerson College.
IAA champions the freedom of commercial speech and encourages education and professional development. The majority of its educational efforts are conducted in conjunction with its accredited schools, whose faculty deliver state-of-art marketing communications programs for those seeking leadership positions within the profession.
